Progress Report Reflections.

The report cards are one of the scariest things that happen in school because you don't know what you're going to get on it. I thought that the progress report was lower than my averages, which is usually 70s-80s. I was a little upset with the math, because I understand it, but I don't get why I got low marks. I was happy with the rest of the marks for the rest of the subjects. The only thing I didn't like was that I got a faling mark for math.
What I would do in Term 2 is get better at math, and get a passing mark on it, because that is my worse subject, and I want to get better at it. What I would also do is get more involved in things (but I'm also very shy, so I'll really try on that), like dance, class discussions, and group work. I'm not good at these type of things and I want to get better at this too.

On the Sidewalk Bleeding

1.)      What I do when I form an impression on someone is look at how they act towards others, what they wear, and how they look like. For example, if I see someone who talks alot and happy, it means they are outgoing and friendly, and if I see someone who is quiet, sad, and not talking to anyone, it means that they are having problems, like family problems, being shy, or they don't like being social with anyone. If i see someone who wears comfy clothing, relaxed, athletic wear etc. it means they are athletic. If I see someone who wears alot of the latest trends, and is done up really nicely, they are a fashion queen or a drama queen ( from my point of view that is,). Or even if I see somwone who is wearing alot of colour, mixing an matching styles, I think they are creative, cool, and artistic.

2.)     I think when people meet me and form an impression on me, they will study me for a while, thinking what and who I am. They will look at my looks, body structure, and my clothes. When they look at me, they see I am kind of relaxed looking and tomboyish. They could also think I am a complicated person I can be myself one time, and not be myself another time. People say I am a tomboy because I walk kind of like a guy, dress like one, and I have a relaxed way of styling myself up. They could also see I am a tomboy because I am good at sports, and i always try, even if I don't seem like it.

3.)      If people ask me "who I am", I would say "I'm Marjorie." I'm not much of a confident person, and I'm not the pretty type. I like to play sports, like basketball, volleyball, etc. I'm a relaxed person, like wearing simple clothes, being myself, and just having fun. I like hanging out with my friends, watching movies, reading books, and listening to music. I like watching action, comedy, a little bit of horror (if I feel like it), and watching sad films. I read almost any books, except love stories, and I'm pretty much passionate about music, because I like so many types of music. I like anything that is hands-om, fun, and something that I am good at. I'm kind of the shy type because I don't have alot of friends, but I have alot of close friends. I like to eat anything that tastes good, and I don't like anything too sweet or too spicy. I am filipino/canadian/british/irish or "mestissa" which means 1/2. I am also a Christian because I attend church every Sunday.

Daniel's Story- Hope is More Important Than Bread

http://cattonteacher.blogspot.com/2010/10/daniels-story-blogging-question.html

Is hope more important than bread? In the story, Daniel's father said that a radio was very important in the family. I agree with the father on this. Because, the radio is always a sign of hope, because during the Holocaust, there was no hope for the people in the ghettos. A radio helped give news, when the people needed it.
What "hope is more important than bread" means is that you can never give up hope. If you compare hope with bread, you lose the bread more than you lose hope. If you depend on a certain thing to often, then it leads to downfall. Sometimes you just have to hope for something, and you pass like flying colours.
So in conclusion, with hope, you can keep on going, because you have that hope in you, and you believe you can keep going.

Making a Better Life-Literacy

I think literacy is very important in life, because if we didn't have literacy, we wouldn't be able to read, which is a very important part of life.
Some things you wouldn't be able to do without literacy is understand what people are saying to you. Because you learn what you say from reading, and if you don't understand that,  you wouldn't be able to understand and it will be very difficult on you. Another reason is learning things you want to do, like drive a car, or get a job. Without literacy, you probably won't even get a job, or drive a car, because in order to do that, it involves reading.
In conclusion, you need literacy in order to survive life. Without it, the world would be nothing. It wouldn't mean anything. And we would be nothing too, if we didn't have literacy.
